We’ve been in 2017 for 2 months and I have seen a prop-explosion. An influx of all things neon, plastic and blow up. I love it! Considering the prop business is really taking off at the minute, our clients, as usual, are really enjoying our classics, but also really letting their imaginations run wild for themes and fun and I’ve got to say, I’m impressed.
So, I’ve conjured up a sort of review of some past themes and guide for any newbies deciding on a theme. Hoping to hand over a little inspiration and to help those creative juices flow!
Over the short time that I’ve worked at Imperial Photo Booth, the events have been getting more and more outrageous. From a basement pizza-party stroke awards ceremony that threw up a storm with food AND rock ‘n’ roll themed booth-props (Too cool to comprehend, I know), to a time warp through New York, a pit stop in Las Vegas and a cruise down LA’s boulevard. All in one night? A large applause to our fabulous green screen!
And finally, I’ve been transported back in time to when pastel pants lived strong, mullets ruled the dancefloor, the movie brats dominated our screens and Madonna kind of just dominated the world? That’s right, a colossal 80’s Christmas Do!
So, with our past clients really setting the bar high, how can you make sure your themed party is one to remember?
Be clear about your theme. You want everyone’s costumes on point so you want to pick a theme that’s concise but also spills costume idea’s. That’s probably why Hawksmoor’s 80s bash knocked it out the park. Decades is definitely a favourite, and usually quite easy to do, especially one as definitive as the 80s. But I reckon a psychedelic 60s void, a MADCHESTER 90s rave or even pull out your tube top, stick on The Spice Girls and rock the naughties. However, if you’re not feeling a flood of shell suits, bucket hats or a brigade of Pussycat Dolls. You could try movie icons; directors, actors or characters? If that doesn’t float your boat, letters. Pick a letter and everyone must create a costume that begins with that letter. Simples!
This is where we can help you! You want your entertainment to pop just as much as you and your guest’s costumes, right? Well, why not customise your booth too. Our booth skins can be dressed up dressed down, to just about anything you desire. If you’re going for that fully immersive experience, you’ve got to pick the best back drop in town for your guests to really get down, or even a dip your toe into our brand new magic mirror to really get that Disney feel. We could even throw in a chocolate fountain, candy floss cart or a giant pyramid of Ferrero Rocher’s (no we really aren’t joking) for those wanting to hop in on the fun or just have a really sweet tooth!
